Understand where they spend the money and allocate resources
“Look at the past 6 months and ask yourself, ask others, where does this organisation spend its money? how does it spend its money? The resources are likely being spent on their top priorities”
Understand what gets talked about and what does not
“You will notice a pattern that will be indicative of the diversity hierarchy. Something is going to get more attention than the others. Something is going to be repeated here. What is that?”
Understand who the heroes are, what do they look like?
“In any organisation that wants to promote inclusion, there will have a narrative about what inclusion means and they will promote the narrative using a number of high-profile individuals. Who are these people, what do they say, what do they look like?”
